This pillow is made from a faux down polyester fiber (aka micro denier / down alternative) that has the same feel, weight, and characteristics of traditional down but is hypoallergenic. The pillow is hypoallergenic, odorless, lint and dust-free, and free of flame-retardant chemicals. This pillow is ultra soft and has the traditional karate chop look that comes with natural down. The fibers are ultra-soft for high-end pillows. We use a slick polyester fiber to keep the pillow filler smooth, unlike cheap pillows that use dry fibers that will quickly lump up and need replacing. American-made pillow shell from a high thread count poly cotton blended fabric, that is durable and machine washable, machine dry (cover is not removable). It is made in the USA from American Fibers and Shell.
For the plush, designer look, size your insert up two inches from your cover — a fuller insert keeps the pillow from looking flat or saggy and gives you that signature karate-chop shape. What size insert should I use for my cover?
Size up about two inches from your cover — a 22x22 insert for a 20x20 cover, or a 26x26 insert for a 24x24 cover — so the pillow looks full and plush rather than flat.
Are down alternative inserts as good as real down?
They give the same soft loft and karate-chop shape as natural down, but are hypoallergenic, odorless, and hold their shape without clumping.
Can I wash these pillow inserts?
Yes — the American-made poly-cotton shell is machine washable and dryable. The shell is sewn closed and not removable.
Do they come in lumbar sizes?
Yes. Along with 18- to 24-inch squares, we make long 14x36 and 12x48 lumbar inserts to order.
