How to care for velvet pillow covers
- Spot clean or dry clean. Blot spills right away with a clean, dry cloth. Do not rub, which crushes the pile.
- Never iron velvet. To lift a crushed spot or a crease, hold a steamer a few inches away and steam from the reverse side, then let it dry flat.
- Brush the pile. A soft clothes brush or a dry microfiber cloth, swept in one direction, restores the sheen.
- Vacuum gently. Use the upholstery attachment on low to remove dust and pet hair.
- Rotate and fluff. Turn pillows weekly so one side does not flatten.
