Green Smoothie Recipe For Kids

Photo: Home Sweet Hunter

While most of us are isolating at home (hopefully) due to the pandemic, we are trying to feed our families easy and affordable meals. This green smoothie recipe takes 10 minutes to make and you can stock up on it and make large batches to freeze.

I wanted to share a recipe for a green smoothie that I have been giving my kids (and drinking myself) for a few years now. My son is a very picky eater.  He will only eat certain foods, and most of them are not healthy. We have tried everything - and he refuses. In fact, this smoothie is the only way I can get him to eat greens. It is very stressful but I am grateful he drinks this!

If anyone can relate, I hope this article will help you.

GREEN SMOOTHIE RECIPE:

(1.5) Cups water

(2) Cups spinach

(1) Head romaine lettuce

(1) Apple

(1) Pear

(1) Banana

1/2 Cucumber or 2 celery sticks

(1) Cup frozen pineapple or mango

Use a high powered blender (we use a vitamix) to blend all the ingredients together until the consistency is smooth. You can switch out the banana for an avocado if you prefer less sugar.

I found this smoothie recipe from Kimberly Snyder. I love following her and her amazing recipes. She changed the way I eat and view food. Here is a video of her making this smoothie:

Hope you love as much as I do! x
